All-Star Selection Issues Cost Players Money

Phil Kessel, who was certainly deserving of an All-Star selection, will miss out on a $212,500 bonus because he didn't make the roster.

Because this is Kessel's final season of his entry-level contract, he will not be eligible for All-Star bonuses on his next deal.

Why The Boycott?

We have decided to boycott the NHL All-Star Game.

From the moment the official voting ballot was released, it was obvious that the game would be a sham. Injured players made the ballot while successful players didn't.
Then came the voting controversies.
The way the NHL handled the All-Star voting controversies was wrong.
We do not wish to see any votes thrown out as the invalid votes would likely be impossible to detect at this point. We do not wish to see the votes adjusted.

This boycott is not due to any particular players making or not making the team.
The problem we have is with the way the NHL has chosen to sweep this issue under the rug and pretend that nothing has happened.

If you are a fan of any NHL team and you feel that the way this has been handled is insulting and irresponsible, join us.
Anyone who is upset with how the NHL continues to run the league as a second-rate organization, join us.

This situation makes the NHL as a whole look bad. The NHL All-Star Game has become a joke.

We will not watch the NHL All-Star Game and we encourage you to do the same and spread the word.
